Initiative:YouthAble - Be Active. Be a change-maker
The accelerated economic and social globalization might cause conflict situations that can be effectively handled if individuals embrace the idea of belonging to a single people.
The Euro-Mediterranean International Leadership Programme is based on three key elements, know-understand-do, and has great potential in fostering the sense of global citizenship targeting global solidarity. The idea of developing this programme appeared as a need of strengthening the feeling of belonging to a global community. Young professionals from different countries will be supported to meet for a week of intensive learning to boost their knowledge, potential and innovation to act as active citizens.
The target group is represented by young people of both genders of 18 to 35 years old who are human rights activists, youth workers, volunteers and representatives of NGOs.
The activities of the Euro-Mediterranean International Leadership Programme are designed to:
- Raise awareness aboutdemocracy and human rights policies in other socio-economical contexts.
- Offer in-depth learning experience showing good development practice from similar European institutions
- Unlock the potential for acting as social change makers in their communities
The direct international cooperation, the exchange of best practices, knowledge and information can foster openness towards new approaches in dealing with social issues.
