Joy Of Unity!

The objectives of the first exchange were to:

- Explore the concept & exchange of experience in volunteering, youth participation & social activism

- Analyzing the current involvement of young people in local communities especially youth with distinct cultural backgrounds

- Exploring inter-cultural obstacles & barriers to youth social actions & ways to overcome them

- Identify innovative tools & best practices & methods which can be transferred to youth local actions

- Form teams from participants to make research in their local communities upon their return home, in order to find useful insights & opportunities for social actions

The objectives of the second exchange were to:

- Explore, discussing & understanding contemporary refugee related challenges in Europe.

- Explore the migration policy of EU & involvement of civic society in the process.

- Encourage contribution of youth in integration & social inclusion of migrants & refugees into their communities.

- Gather insights, learning, inspirations & experience into project ideas.

- Equip participants with knowledge, skills & attitudes to enable them to develop social & inter-cultural youth projects.

- Develop ideas & social initiatives & put them into action.

- Create community event where everyone is invited to take part & witness multicultural event.

In between first & second activity participants did a research in their local communities to find useful insights of social & cultural opportunities. This helped them know where they can best help, and identify their needs of their community.

The exchanges were an opportunity for young people from France, Germany, Italy, Romania, Turkey and Sweden to focus on raising awareness of the realities and possibilities for more a inclusive society and anti-discrimination youth actions with marginalised groups. The programme of this activity invovled exploring topics of youth empowerment, volunteering social activism and active participation.

Joy of Unity! project was anopportunity to encourage youth contribution to the integration and socialinclusion of migrants and refugees into their communities. It was also anopportunity for participants to expand their networks of internationalcontacts, to actively participate in society and develop a sense of Europeancitizenship and identity.

This youth exchange project was designed for participants aged between 18 to 30 years old (36 participants in total from 6 countries, 6 participants per partner organization). There were planned two youth exchanges, one organized in France and the other one in Sweden. Through project the youth participants directly involved were helped to reach their full potential through various workshops, discussions, games & simulations, which provide training & valuable experience to youth & support their future hiring process.
